PrimaryJob Duties
- Perform and document a wide variety of tests on raw materials and finished goods.
- Work with the sales team to develop new formulations, which includes product validation, quality control specifications, technical and sales information, and maintaining safety data sheets.
- Communicate manufacturing and quality requirements to appropriate personnel.
- Determine and document corrective action of non-conforming product.
- Prepare lab‑scale samples of new and current products.
- Wear and maintain all personal protective equipment.
- Handle and store all tools, chemicals, and waste materials in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a neat and clean work area.
- Train and assist quality control technicians in the performance of their duties.
- Interact with customers and sales staff to resolve complaints and product performance issues.
- Work with the purchasing department to meet with raw material vendors and review new product offerings and approve or reject alternate sources of current raw materials.
- Participate in training, committees, and all other related duties as assigned.
- Some occasional travel may be required for customer site visits, trade show attendance, or training.
- Detail-oriented and extremely accurate.
- Proficient understanding of mathematics.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient with related computer software.
- Ability to read and understand manuals and maintain proper records.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High school diploma required;
Associate’s degree in a chemical field highly preferred. - At least one year of related training as a chemical technician.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 50#.
- Must have visual acuity to distinguish color.
- Must be able to hear emergency announcements, verbal instructions, and forklift warning signals.
- Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, obstacles, and odors associated with a manufacturing environment.
