Position Summary

Under the direction of an Engineering Manager or senior engineers, the Engineering Technician supports the development of new processes and part numbers, sustains existing products, and exhibits exceptional organization, documentation, and execution of relevant engineering processes. The role emphasizes manufacturing process design and documentation creation for high‑tolerance, complex parts. All tasks are completed within Tecomet’s principles of continuous improvement, customer‑driven innovation, and a “win‑first” culture while meeting financial and performance metrics.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and adhere to the Tecomet Quality Management System (QMS) and maintain its effectiveness.
  • Manage, organize, and/or support the engineering change notice process to ensure control of engineering documentation.
  • Draft various types of engineering documentation, including Process Control Plans, Inspection Reports, Work Instructions, and Setup Sheets.
  • Ensure the organization of all relevant engineering documentation, both electronic and hard copy.
  • Support the management of engineering records and part masters in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, as applicable.
  • Support engineering projects such as process validations, cost‑improvement projects, new product introduction (NPI), and safety improvement projects.
  • Participate in process development for manufacturing of products.
  • Train production staff on relevant work instructions or standard work as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Credentials / Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience performing document control duties in a manufacturing environment preferred; relevant experience within an engineering and manufacturing environment or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.
  • Experience and knowledge of ERP systems, including part masters and bill of materials (BOMs), preferred.
Qualification Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred.
Experience / Educational / Training Preferred
  • Associate’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of EN ISO 13485 preferred.
  • Experience with utilizing ERP systems preferred.
  • Computer literacy required; experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word, is required.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Detail oriented and able to plan and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong time management, organization, and planning skills.
  • Excellent data entry skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment.
  • Ability to apply intermediate math skills and concepts.
