We're excited to be recruiting 3 x Rent Recovery Officers in Warrington on behalf of our well-established social housing client on a minimum 6 month contract.

You'll be working within their Income Maximisation team, responsible for managing your own caseload of customer accounts to ultimately minimise arrears and maximise income for the group.

We are looking for candidates with a strong background in Rent/Income Recovery within social housing, with a good knowledge and understanding of housing legislation and best practice.

Responsibilities
  • Manage your own caseload of tenant accounts to minimise arrears and maximise income for the group.
  • Monitor a caseload of tenant accounts, applying policies to maximise rent collection and minimise arrears.
  • Identify early signs of arrears and take early intervention to support tenancy sustainment by offering practical financial guidance.
  • Liaise with customers via phone, email and home visits to discuss accounts and agree realistic repayment plans.
  • Assist with Housing Benefit and UC claims, completing benefit calculations where required.
  • Provide advice and signpost to internal and external teams for welfare, employment and wellbeing services.
  • Prepare and service legal notices, representing the organisation in court where required.
  • Ensure all customer contact and notes are consistently updated within the QL housing management system.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Proven experience in income management/rent collection within social housing or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of welfare benefits, UC and Housing Benefit processes.
  • Knowledge of legal frameworks relating to tenancy arrears and eviction processes.
  • Confident communicating with tenants in sensitive situations, with a proactive, customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to commute to Warrington a minimum of 2 x per week.
