Overview
We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. You will work in a fast paced retail environment where no day is the same, providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance. You will contribute to improving service through on‑the‑job coaching and feedback, and help ensure the store remains a safe place to work and shop.

We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. You will be working in a fast paced retail environment where no day is the same. You will play an important role in the day‑to‑day operations of store activities by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance.
You will be constantly looking for ways to improve service in your store through on the job coaching and feedback. With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop.
- Provide excellent customer service and engage with customers with passion and pride, delivering great service.
- Encourage customers to give feedback by completing the “have your say” survey.
- Work across all store areas including online, tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines to meet customer needs.
- Apply training to ensure work is performed safely and to a high standard.
- Participate in seasonal, community and charity events to create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Understand the store’s performance and work with the team to deliver profit.
- Represent the store values, make everyone feel welcome and follow store policies.
- Clock in and out at the start and end of shifts to ensure accurate pay for hours worked.
- Follow security procedures and wear safety equipment where available to keep colleagues and customers safe.
- Follow the Think 25 policy when serving age‑restricted products.
- Respond quickly to assistance calls on self‑service checkouts and explain actions to customers.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and organized store with clear aisles.
- May run the shift in the absence of the Shift Leader and Store Manager.
- Follow all training to keep colleagues, customers and the store safe and compliant with legal requirements.
- If the store has a Post Office Local, duties include day‑to‑day post office operations and you may be required to pass a Post Office financial and criminal conviction background check; if checks fail, the offer may be withdrawn.
