Transport Manager
£45,000 - £50,000
North West

Ready to step into a role where you’re not just running a transport operation, you’re shaping the future of it?

This is a senior leadership position at a long-established, highly respected bulk transport business operating in one of the most safety-critical sectors in the UK. With major growth planned over the next 3–5 years, this is your chance to take a high-performing operation and make it exceptional.

You’ll have full ownership of compliance and operational standards, and be the person who sets the tone for safety, performance, and culture across multiple sites.

It’s senior. It’s visible. And it genuinely matters.

What You’ll Lead
You will take the wheel on all things transport, from legal & safety to efficiency and commercials.

You’ll be trusted with end-to-end accountability for:

* Full Operator Licence, compliance & OCRS performance

* Setting the benchmark for safety, behaviour, and professional standards

* Leading recruitment, onboarding, development, performance management, and overall driver engagement

* Delivering the Transport Safety Plan and driving a proactive safety culture

* Reducing accident, damage, and fuel-related costs while improving MPG and operational efficiency

* Using data, trends, and telemetry insights to elevate driving standards and minimise risk

* Working closely with Operations & SHEQ leadership to deliver ambitious KPIs and support business-wide growth

* Travel across key operating centres including Middlesbrough, Hull, Immingham and Runcorn

* This is a role for someone who wants ownership — not oversight.

About You

* International CPC (or National CPC with strong, relevant experience)

* Proven leadership in a senior transport management role

* Strong, current knowledge of UK transport legislation

* A firm, fair, consistent approach that builds respect and engagement

* A calm, structured mindset with the ability to manage risk and improve performance without drama

If you want to lead, elevate, and transform a transport operation in a business committed to doing things the right way, this is the role
