Brookson are recruiting for a highly organised and detail-oriented Independent Contractor Compliance Specialist to ensure that independent contractor compliance across the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region in accordance with local laws and regulations.

This role involves working closely with hiring managers and independent contractors to conduct thorough evaluations of roles to ensure compliance; reviewing contractor business documents; onboarding contractors compliantly; issuing contracts; and providing ongoing support. You will also serve as a liaison between clients, MSPs (Managed Service Providers), and contractors, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any compliance-related queries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Compliance Verification – Ensure that independent contractors operating within the EMEA region maintain compliant business operations based on local regulations. This includes gathering and reviewing necessary business documents, such as tax records, proof of insurance, and company registration details.
  • Role and Manager Evaluations – Collaborate with managers and teams to conduct role evaluations, ensuring that the role requirements align with legal and regulatory standards before engaging with contractors. This step is crucial to assess whether the contractor’s engagement complies with laws in the respective EMEA country.
  • Onboarding Contractors – Onboard independent contractors compliantly by verifying their business status, ensuring all required documentation is received and up-to-date, and providing support throughout the onboarding process.
  • Contract Issuance – Draft and issue legally compliant contracts for independent contractors, ensuring all terms and conditions are clear and aligned with local laws and the needs of the client.
  • Ongoing Contractor Support – Provide continuous support to contractors throughout their engagement, handling any compliance-related queries, addressing issues, and ensuring smooth operational processes.
  • Liaison with Stakeholders – Act as the primary point of contact between contractors, clients, and MSPs. Communicate effectively with all parties to resolve compliance issues and ensure seamless workflows.
  • Documentation and Reporting – Maintain accurate records of contractor documentation and compliance status. Ensure all files are securely stored and easily accessible when required for audits or reviews.
  • VMS Management – Work within the Vendor Management System (VMS) to track contractor information, issue contracts, and ensure compliance documentation is updated regularly. Ensure accurate reporting within the VMS.
  • Compliance Monitoring – Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, tax regulations, and business requirements within the EMEA region. Provide insights and updates to the team and contractors as regulations evolve.
What we’re looking for
  • Experience in contractor compliance, human resources, or legal administration, preferably in the EMEA region.
  • Strong understanding of local labor laws and business regulations across multiple EMEA countries.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams to conduct compliance evaluations before contractor engagement.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in using VMS platforms and other digital tools to manage contractor data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex compliance issues.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages spoken in the EMEA region are a plus (e.g., French, German, Spanish, etc.).
  • Experience working with MSPs or in the staffing industry.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and business documentation in the EMEA region.
  • Familiarity with contract law and negotiation processes.
