Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Warrington and Halton phlebotomy team. If you are enthusiastic about patient care and have a desire to work in a supportive, compassionate, and dedicated team then this is the role for you. The phlebotomy service is based across both Warrington & Halton hospital sites and some general practitioners in Runcorn. The position is a 20‑hour a week permanent contract, with core hours from 7am until 8pm Monday to Sunday, 7 days a week.
Weekend working is on a rotation basis to support service demands. Salary is £11.45 per hour, £11,937 per year pro‑rata for 20 hours a week, subject to satisfactory personal development and performance.
- Collect blood samples by venepuncture and capillary on adults and children.
- Perform clerical and housekeeping duties as required.
- Provide a prominent level of customer care service and possess excellent communication skills with patients, staff, and managers.
- Work as part of a team, be forward‑thinking and willing to learn new skills.
- Maintain a flexible approach to working hours to meet service level requirements.
Essential
- Good basic education.
- Previous training in phlebotomy is an advantage.
Desirable
- Health care experience.
- Knowledge of Lorenzo system (full training will be provided if not familiar).
Band: 2
Salary: £24,465 per year pro‑rata (equivalent to £11.45 per hour for 20 hours a week).
Contract Type:
Permanent, Part‑time.
Working pattern: 20 hours per week, core hours 7am‑8pm, Monday to Sunday, with rotation weekend work.
