You will takethe Professional lead onsafeguardingadults, including MCA, working in collaboration with Local Authorities and Commissioners to provide a high quality, evidence based service. The post holder will ensure the delivery ofquality care to adults at risk within Bridgewater Community Healthcare Foundation Trust (BHCFT). This includesbeing a source of expertise for BHCFT and promoting excellent standards of professional practice in relation to safeguarding adults at risk:
The Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

Main duties of the job

Provide expert advice and support to BCHFT on its statutory and legislative duties for safeguarding adults at risk.

Establishrobust communication networks and strong partnerships with Local Authorities,CCG Safeguarding Team and within BCHFT

Ensure that a training strategy is developed and continually evaluated for the organisation that supports staff in practice in relation to safeguardingadults, Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

Interpretacts of law, national and localsafeguarding boards guidance to ensure the trust safeguarding policies and procedures across all directorates relating to adults at risk are robust and relevant

Ensure that robust communication streams and formal reporting is available on manylevels through both the Multi-agency Safeguarding Adults Board and Quality Boards that will underpin and maintain strong links with all stakeholders.

Job responsibilities

Job Purpose:

  • Take the Professional lead on safeguarding adults, including MCA, working in collaboration with Local Authorities and Commissioners to provide a high quality, evidence based service. The post holder will ensure the delivery of quality care to adults at risk within Bridgewater Community Healthcare Foundation Trust (BHCFT). This includes being a source of expertise for BHCFT and promoting excellent standards of professional practice in relation to safeguarding adults at risk:
    The Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
  • The scope of the post includes development of effective inter-disciplinary and inter-agency working, supporting changes in safeguarding service delivery and clinical practice required by relevant national and local policy. It also involvessupporting staff to undertake any appropriate and comprehensive assessments which are required to be undertaken and that safeguardingsupervision is provided for staff for complex cases
  • Prepare chronologies and independent management review reports for Domestic Homicide Reviews, Serious Adult Reviews, multi-agency and internal management reviews on behalf of the Trust, undertaking critical analysis of practice, the development of recommendations and action planning.
  • Collaborate with Trust Managers and the Human Resources in conducting investigations of safeguarding adults related incidents and complaints.
  • Support the delivery of the quality strategy within the designated area incorporating establishment of systems and processes.
  • The post holder will demonstrate an attitude which respects and values service users and their carers.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • First Level Registration if a Nurse or other relevant qualification.
  • Evidence of study at Master level or relevant experience
  • Substantial post registration experience (at Level
    1) including evidence of working with high exposure to adult safeguarding casework.
