We have an exciting opportunity for midwives who are passionate about supporting women to birth in low-risk settings, and who can demonstrate excellence, kindness and compassion, to come and join our team of experienced midwives providing excellent low-risk care.

Team Lunar midwives each care for a caseload of women who are planning home births, providing continuity of care at home throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods. They will also support women who choose to birth on The Nest, our beautiful, alongside midwife-led unit, providing intrapartum and postnatal care. Team Lunar midwives will also support our post-dates aromatherapy clinics. Team Lunar will be based on The Nest, working in a shift-model, with no current requirement to be on-call from home.

In 2021 the team were shortlisted for an HSJ Patient Safety Award and more recently were nominated for the regional Nursing and Midwifery Award at the 2022 NHS Parliamentary Awards. The successful candidate will have varied post qualification midwifery practice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be required as will the ability to demonstrate a passion for both continuity and for woman centred care. You will work across Warrington and Halton and will need access to your own vehicle.

Team Lunar midwives are based on The Nest, our alongside, midwife-led unit. They provide midwife-led care women on The Nest or at home, and they caseload women planning home births.

• Completed Preceptorship Programme
• Practice as an accountable midwife in an acute and primary care setting in the NHS
• Experience providing midwifery care in a low-risk setting
• Experience of case loading/continuity of care model
• Experience of initiatives which develop the service
• Experience attending home births

• Completed and obtained RM qualification and has current live PIN on NMC register
• Teaching & Assessing qualification
• NIPE
• Aromatherapy

• Must be able to practice in all areas
• Evidence of understanding and insight into current issues in Midwifery and NHS
• Demonstrable commitment to the provision of a high-quality safe service for all women and their families
• Experience of delivering Parent Education
• Understanding of Population Health Agenda
