Mac Gregor Black is partnering with a Privately Owned SME Consumer Goods business who are looking to hire a Financial Controller to join their team. This role is based at the company’s head office in Warrington.

As a business experiencing rapid growth across both retail and wholesale channels, they are looking for a proactive and commercially minded finance leader to ensure strong financial controls are in place. This is a key strategic role, offering the opportunity to contribute to business-wide decision-making, with a clear pathway towards a Finance Director position in line with their ambitious five-year growth plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and enhance financial controls across a multi-site retail and wholesale business, ensuring scalability as the company expands.
  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts, delivering financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring accurate reporting to key stakeholders, including banking partners.
  • Take ownership of inventory and cash management, ensuring efficiency and alignment with operational goals.
  • Provide commercial finance support to senior leadership, helping drive profitability and business performance.
  • What are we looking for?

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as a Financial Controller in a multi-site retail or wholesale environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Far East supply chains and currency transactions.
  • Experience with Oracle Net Suite and associated reporting tools is highly advantageous.
  • Prior experience handling banking reporting requirements and financial compliance.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
