Mac Gregor Black is partnering with a Privately Owned SME Consumer Goods business who are looking to hire a Financial Controller to join their team. This role is based at the company’s head office in Warrington.

As a business experiencing rapid growth across both retail and wholesale channels, they are looking for a proactive and commercially minded finance leader to ensure strong financial controls are in place. This is a key strategic role, offering the opportunity to contribute to business-wide decision-making, with a clear pathway towards a Finance Director position in line with their ambitious five-year growth plan.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and enhance financial controls across a multi-site retail and wholesale business, ensuring scalability as the company expands.

Prepare and present monthly management accounts, delivering financial insights that support strategic decision-making.

Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring accurate reporting to key stakeholders, including banking partners.

Take ownership of inventory and cash management, ensuring efficiency and alignment with operational goals.

Provide commercial finance support to senior leadership, helping drive profitability and business performance.

What are we looking for?

Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).

Minimum of three years’ experience as a Financial Controller in a multi-site retail or wholesale environment.

Strong knowledge of Far East supply chains and currency transactions.

Experience with Oracle Net Suite and associated reporting tools is highly advantageous.

Prior experience handling banking reporting requirements and financial compliance.

Must be eligible to work in the UK.
