Credit Controller

£27,000 + bonus

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, award-winning client based in Warrington who is experiencing an exciting period of growth. As a result, they are looking to expand their finance team with the addition of a Credit Controller.

The Role

Reporting to the Credit Control Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a defined ledger of accounts. Your focus will be on minimising overdue debt, maximising cashflow and preventing bad debts, while building strong internal and external relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

* Proactively chasing outstanding balances via phone and email

* Making approximately 20 calls per day (pro rata), with email follow-up

* Accurately documenting customer conversations for effective follow-up

* Escalating invoice disputes to Account Managers and ensuring timely resolution

* Highlighting accounts at risk or experiencing financial difficulty

* Analysing aged debt reports to prioritise workload

* Attending departmental meetings as required

* Working collaboratively to maximise cash collection results

* Experience using Salesforce and Sage 50 would be advantageous but is not essential.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be motivated, organised and confident working in a fast-paced environment.

You will ideally have:

* Previous credit control experience

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Strong attention to detail and analytical ability

* The ability to work independently with minimal supervision

* High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build rapport

* A driven, competitive mindset and strong commercial awareness

* A team-focused approach
