Are you the kind of Testing & Commissioning leader who only signs off when a UK compressor station is delivered right first time, fully compliant, and accepted without compromise by the client?
Do you want to own the testing and commissioning strategy for complex Gas Transmission projects from FEED through execution where your technical judgement genuinely shapes safety, quality, and delivery?
Are you ready to lead multidisciplinary teams, influence project decisions, and be the technical authority clients trust when it matters most during commissioning and handover?
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Testing & Commissioning Coordinator to play a key role within our Gas Transmission portfolio, with a strong focus on UK compressor station infrastructure.
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and delivering testing and commissioning activities across FEED and detailed design phases, through construction support, inspection, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
You may act as the Testing & Commissioning Coordinator for a single major project or a portfolio of projects, depending on size and complexity.
This is a role for a professional who thrives on accountability, quality, and getting it right the first time.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate Testing & Commissioning activities across multi-discipline Engineering, EPCM, or EPC projects
Deliver projects ranging from Concept Design (BP135G) to Execution Design (T/PM/G/35 and GD/PM/G/17)
Manage Construction Support, Inspection, Testing, Commissioning, and Handover within agreed budget and programme
Ensure full compliance with client standards, specifications, and quality requirements
Lead delivery of activities aligned to T/PM/RE/18 and T/SP/COMP/36
Chair and participate in internal and external design reviews in line with T/PM/G/35 & GD/PM/G/17
Provide independent technical decision-making and expert support to the project delivery team
Lead and motivate teams of engineers and technicians throughout the commissioning phase
Drive a strong change control process, clearly communicating budget and schedule impacts to stakeholders
Ensure discipline deliverables are checked, approved, and compliant with company procedures
Your profile
If you have the following profile, then we are looking forward to meeting you
More than 5 years of experience as a Testing and Commissioning Coordinator, in multi-discipline projects, in an Engineering / EPCM / EPC company, in the Gas Transmission and/or Distribution sector
More than 5 years of experience managing a commissioning team in the Gas Transmission and/or Distribution sector
Deep knowledge of EC&I and Automation is preferred, but you also have a sound knowledge of the other disciplines (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Process)
Deep knowledge of the Gas Transmission and Distribution standards and specifications for all disciplines, specifically focused around the compressor stations
MEng / BEng / HNC / HND in Engineering
Experience of delivering (T/PM/RE/18) and (T/SP/COMP/36)
Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (Preferred)
CDM Principal Contractor (Preferred)
Result oriented. You are only satisfied after your activities are accepted by the client, you delivered top quality and the client is very satisfied with the performance of you and your team
You plan and organise your activities before you allow your team to start spending hours.
You have a ‘one time right’ mentality
Sound understanding of the current British and European Standards
You delegate to your team, but at the same time you know exactly what is going on in your project, and intervene if required
You implement a solid change control procedure for your team, and you can convince the client of the budget and planning consequences of changes
You can lead and motivate your team so that they achieve the targets, also in case of setbacks
