Join the Environment Agency as a Technical Author in the UK BAT team.
About the roleThe UK BAT Author is responsible for drafting BAT Conclusions, liaising with Technical Working Groups, and presenting final documents suitable for publication as new UK-wide environmental standards for industry. The role requires specialist knowledge of Large Volume Inorganic Chemicals (LVIC) installations, process engineering, environmental legislation, and data analysis.
Responsibilities- Draft BAT Conclusions and technical documents.
- Liaise with Technical Working Groups and stakeholders.
- Present findings to support the development of environmental standards.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables.
- Support incident management and training initiatives.
- At least 5 years of experience in environmental regulation or the LVIC industry.
- Solid understanding of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation (e.g., IED, Environmental Permitting Regulations).
- Experience in technical analysis of complex industrial data.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work with diverse teams.
- Project management skills and drive to complete tasks.
Up to 2 years from appointment, location:
Warrington, England, United Kingdom (UK BAT team).
