Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Fixed term) - Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School The role
Required from January 2026, the Governors of Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated, dedicated and caring Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our happy and hardworking team.
The successful candidate will work with groups of children within the class setting as well as deliver learning programmes tailored to individual pupils’ needs. Duties will also include teaching whole classes and covering short-term teacher absence under the direction and instruction of the class teacher.
Experience of working in both Key Stages would be an advantage but is not essential. This is a 30 hour per week post, working 39 weeks per year.
We are looking for someone who:
- Will fully support and promote the Catholic ethos of our school
- Has a nurturing, enthusiastic manner with excellent communication skills
- Is positive, calm, and committed to helping children achieve their best
- Demonstrates effective behaviour management and a caring approach
- Works well as part of a collaborative and flexible team
- Holds a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
- Preferably has experience supporting children with SEND
- Uses initiative while also responding well to direction from the class teacher
- Brings a good sense of humour and a positive attitude to school life
