Senior Architectural Technologist

We are recruiting for a Senior Designer to work on a permanent basis in the Warrington area. Our client is looking for a Designer / Design Manager with previous experience of working in architectural/construction sectors.

Salary is c 32-48,000 per annum (negotiable, depending on experience) plus holidays, pension etc.

A well-established UK contractor specialising in the design and delivery of architectural systems for large-scale commercial and industrial projects. The business operates as a design-led contractor, working closely with clients, consultants, and delivery teams to provide technically robust external building solutions.

The Role

This is a senior design position with responsibility for leading and managing the design process across multiple projects. The role would suit an experienced Senior Designer or Design Manager with a strong technical background who is comfortable operating as the design authority from pre-construction through to site delivery.

You will work closely with commercial, operational, and site teams to ensure designs are compliant, coordinated, and aligned with programme and buildability requirements.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Designer / Design Manager role:

• Lead the design management process across multiple live projects

• Manage and coordinate internal design resources and external consultants

• Oversee design development from tender stage through construction

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for assigned projects

• Manage design risk, technical compliance, and approval processes

• Chair and contribute to design and coordination meetings

• Ensure designs support programme, cost, and construction methodology

• Provide technical input during pre-construction and bid stages as required

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in a senior design or design management role within construction

• Background in architectural systems, specialist subcontracting, or complex building packages

• Strong technical understanding of external building elements

• Experience managing multiple projects concurrently

• Confident communicator able to engage at client, consultant, and delivery level

• UK-based construction experience essential
