Estimator

Yr Morris & Spottiswood are one of the leading providers of fitout, refurbishment, M& E, facilities management and construction services in the UK. A family firm, with a proud track record of excellence, we aim high, act responsibly and value our staff and customers.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the role will offer training, mentoring and career development opportunities. This role can be based at either our Glasgow, Almondvale, Leeds or Warrington Office however Hybrid working is available.

The successful candidate will have a successful track record in preparing, pricing and submitting tenders to a high quality, be fully analytically estimating knowledgeable and have experience in the preparation of contract preliminaries. You will ideally have gained experience predominantly within a fitout / housing / general construction environment, be able to work on your own initiative, settle quickly into the role and hold at least an HND level in a relevant discipline.

Robust commercial acumen, good negotiation skills and the ability to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, architects, suppliers and sub‑contractors to build strong and rewarding relationships is required.

Personal Attributes

You will be a dedicated Estimator with a background in the achievement of multiple tender wins. An analytical approach and excellent time management skills are imperative to the role, and you will have the drive and energy to continually look for ways to improve our business success rate. Proven success within a similar role is required, as is good communication – both written and verbal – to express opinions at internal and external meetings and to work well as part of a team, interacting positively with colleagues and clients.
