The OpportunityWe’re looking for a Billing Clerk to join our Finance team in Daresbury. Reporting initially to Transactional Services Manager the Billing Clerk plays a critical part in maintaining billing accuracy and protecting customer experience.
Billing queries directly impact customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. You’ll take ownership of resolving billing discrepancies, investigating root causes and ensuring data accuracy across systems.
This isn’t just about processing queries; it’s about understanding why issues occur and helping prevent them in the future.
Responsibilities- Managing and resolving billing queries through our Salesforce billing platform
- Investigating discrepancies such as duplicated billing, incorrect start dates, cancellation fees and handover dates
- Issuing credit notes, amending billing data and providing evidence to customers where required
- Supporting invoice accuracy and maintaining high data quality standards
- Working closely with internal departments to resolve queries quickly
- Learning how data flows between internal systems, and identifying potential system improvements
- Supporting invoicing processes as your knowledge develops
You’re naturally inquisitive and solutions focused. When you spot an issue, you ask “why?”, not just “how do I fix this?”. You enjoy working through complex processes and take pride in accuracy.
You’ll likely bring:
- Minimum 12 months billing or billing query experience
- Strong attention to detail and confidence handling billing discrepancies
- The ability to learn interconnected systems and processes quickly
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Experience in telecoms, credit control, accounts receivable/payable, Salesforce or billing systems would be beneficial, but is not essential.
