Overview

The salary range for this position is $17.00 - $20.40 (Hourly Rate). Placement within the salary range is dependent on factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

The Rehab Techs/Admin Specialist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Rehab Tech/Admin Specialist is a non-licensed staff member who assists the professional staff with patient care as defined by those activities that do not require the clinical decision making of a therapist. This staff member assists the business office with clerical and maintenance duties and selected tasks related to the operation of the rehabilitation services department.

Responsibilities
  • Follows standard precautions and Northwestern Medicine infection control policies and procedures consistently.
  • Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly, cleans equipment according to standards.
  • Independently maintains all equipment cleaning logs and performs monthly maintenance.
  • Ensures EOC meets JCAHO standards at all times.
  • Demonstrates competence in performing tasks identified as appropriate treatment for the Rehab Services Tech. Treats patients under direct clinical supervision and anticipates therapist’s needs during patient care.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate promptly to the therapist any observed changes in patient status and responses (e.g. pain, changes in condition, distress). Clarifies with the therapist any special procedures or observations necessary.
  • Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care under the discretion of the therapist. Provides explanation to patient and family prior to administering care to patients; answers questions within scope of practice.
  • Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs.
  • Follows all policy and procedures for documentation of treatment appropriately rendered by the rehab tech.
