Financial Director

Piedmont Media is a nonprofit news organization based in Virginia, operating the Fauquier Times and the Prince William Times. The organization serves the communities of Fauquier County and Prince William County with timely and reliable local news. This is a full-time on-site role for a Financial Director located in Warrenton, VA. The Financial Director will be responsible for overseeing financial planning and management, preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supervising the organization’s financial operations. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring budgets, managing payroll, financial forecasting activities, generating financial insights, and providing guidance to the leadership team.

It includes collaboration with production, circulation, news, and executive teams to support business growth, product development, and new systems.

• Proficiency in Financial Planning and Financial Forecasting
• Understanding of Quick Books
• Strong knowledge of creating and analyzing Financial Statements
• Exceptional Analytical Skills for evaluating data and making informed decisions
• Experience in Finance and Financial Reporting
• Solid knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• Professional certification such as CPA or CFA is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
