Position Summary
The Accounting Manager performs professional and administrative work related to the preparation and maintenance of financial records. This role supports financial operations including accounting close, reporting, cash flow management, and coordination with external auditors.
Qualified candidates typically bring 3–5 years of accounting and/or auditing experience in public accounting, private industry, or government, along with a four-year undergraduate degree in Accounting or related coursework in accounting and finance
.
Responsible for supporting financial planning activities, analyzing liabilities and investments, ensuring appropriate cash flow, managing vendor relationships, and preparing periodic financial reports. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting leadership with financial insights.
Key Objectives- Support financial planning and analysis activities
- Analyze liabilities and investment positions
- Provide input into financial and accounting reporting (FAR)
- Support investment strategy decisions
- Ensure appropriate cash flow management
- Oversee invoicing and billing processes (AP and AR)
- Manage vendor relationships
- Prepare quarterly reports and financial statements
- Oversee finance-related systems and tools
- Participate in bonus structure administration
- Opportunity to manage a team of accounting professionals within 1–3 years
- Support timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Verify accuracy of general ledger accounts and financial reports; identify and correct discrepancies
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for leadership and stakeholders
- Reconcile revenues from multiple sources and contracts
- Assist with special projects related to debt service and investments
- Review payment authorizations and disbursement documentation
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits; prepare supporting schedules and confirmations
- Perform additional related duties and special projects as required
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and methods
- Strong understanding of applicable laws and regulations
- Proficiency with modern office systems and accounting tools
- Ability to prepare, analyze, and maintain financial records and reports
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
