The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet the minimum qualifications.

What You Will Do

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Serve the public and contribute to making Ohio's roads safer.
  • Attend training to obtain CDL licensure if you are not already a licensed CDL holder.
  • Perform a variety of highway maintenance activities, such as flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing.
  • Participate in snow and ice operations to ensure safe travel during winter conditions.

Please note that these are examples of the tasks you may be responsible for, and your duties may extend beyond the listed items.

Qualifications

Highway Maintenance Worker 1:

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing, & speaking common English vocabulary.

Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction

Highway Technician 1:

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment.

Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
