Job Title: Licensed Independent Social Worker
Location: Circleville Juvenile Correctional Facility (CJCF), Circleville, Ohio
Reports To: Director of Programs, Motivated and Empowered Inc.
Employment Type: Part-Time Employee
Hours: 10 hours per week
Compensation: $40-$45 per hour

Position Overview
Under the Ohio Department of Youth Services Bureau of Behavioral Health Services partnership, the LISW will provide direct behavioral health services to youth with identified mental health or behavioral health disorders at the Circleville Juvenile Correctional Facility. The LISW will deliver both individual and group treatment sessions to support rehabilitation, recovery, and positive behavior change among youth. The professional will collaborate with facility staff, case managers, and Motivated and Empowered Inc.’s
leadership team to ensure that each youth receives comprehensive, trauma-informed, and goal-oriented care.
- Provide individual therapy sessions for assigned youth on the mental health caseload, using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.
- Facilitate group treatment sessions related to substance use, problematic sexual behavior, trauma, or other identified behavioral needs.
- Develop and maintain treatment plans
, clinical notes, and documentation in compliance with Motivated and Empowered Inc. and DYS requirements. - Conduct clinical assessments and submit reports summarizing youth progress, strengths, and barriers to success.
- Collaborate with DYS facility staff
, behavioral health teams, and interdisciplinary partners to ensure coordinated care. - Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case reviews as needed.
- Maintain professional ethics, confidentiality, and compliance with all state and agency standards.
- For dependently licensed staff, ensure all services are provided under proper supervision and maintain required supervision logs.
- Provide all services in person at the Circleville Juvenile Correctional Facility.
- Must hold an active Ohio license from one of the following boards:
- Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, & Marriage and Family Therapist Board (LISW),
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with justice-involved youth or within a correctional or behavioral health setting preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and culturally responsive service delivery.
- Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Must pass a Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and FBI background check
. - Ability to work collaboratively within a secure, structured environment.
- Must be able to provide in-person services within the facility.
- Hours: 10 hours per week
- Pay Rate: $40-$45 per hour
- Schedule: Determined by youth caseload and facility coordination
