- Provide superior customer service, on‑time service delivery, and maximize profitability for a high‑revenue dedicated account with approximately 30+ trucks and/or drivers.
- Resolve driver, office, and customer issues; create a sense of partnership between the customer and U.S. Xpress.
- Manage all aspects of driver and office employee matters (complaints, reviews, payroll, home time, terminations) and ensure company policies are adhered to.
- Maintain current fleet maintenance programs for tractors and trailers.
- Develop trust and integrity with the customer.
- Account for all shipments via a weekly service report.
- Engage USX departments (e.g., billing) to ensure smooth operation for the dedicated account.
- Review credit collection and aging reports to increase cash flow.
- Ensure equipment and drivers are ready to meet customer demands.
- Analyze volume figures to forecast surges in business.
- Manage all aspects of document control for the account.
- Seek guidance from leadership on matters that could negatively impact USX financially.
- Participate in rotational off‑site on‑call duty (nights/weekends).
- Assist the Regional Operations Manager when out of the office and with account‑wide projects.
- Provide support when other Account Managers are out of the office or positions are being filled.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in logistics.
- Minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience required; coaching for higher performance preferred.
- Understanding of the distribution process required for success.
Skills/Certifications
- Proficient interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills; ability to exchange information effectively and tactfully, strong diplomacy skills, interactive listening for senior‑level negotiations.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel), Internet, and company‑specific applications.
- Excellent analytical skills; able to think “outside the box.”
- Knowledge of regulations impacting daily operations (DOT hours of service).
- Initiative and assertiveness skills.
