Overview
The English Language Institute is accepting applications from qualified candidates to teach ESL classes. The anticipated start date is August 2024, though future semesters may also be available. The instructor will teach face‑to‑face courses on the Warrensburg campus. These classes may also include a mix of synchronous and/or online instruction. This position may teach up to 9 credit hours per semester.
UCM reserves the right to change the delivery method at any time during the academic year.
- Teach the assigned course(s) throughout the semester.
- Prepare materials needed for course lectures, exams and other class projects.
- Be available to communicate with students by email, phone, web conferencing, or face‑to‑face meetings.
- Report grades, as needed, throughout the semester.
- Participate in/lead cultural activities/cultural programming when possible.
- Master’s degree or current Master’s student in Teaching English as a Second Language or related field.
- Master’s Degree in another field with previous language teaching experience.
- A commitment to teaching excellence.
- Excellent language skills.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.
- Study Abroad or Living Abroad or Language Learning experience is preferred.
- Experience working with diverse cultures and languages preferred.
- Availability to participate in/lead cultural programming/events preferred.
