Overview:
To be eligible for teaching graduate assistant positions, you must be admitted to the Biology MS program. Teaching Assistants (TAs) assist and direct biology laboratories (e.g., Animal Biology, Intro to Science: Ecology, Anatomy, and Physiology). Typically four 2-hour laboratories per week per semester are assigned. Priority review of applications will begin on March 7, 2026.
Duties may include directing undergraduate students in the preparation and execution of laboratories, grading quizzes and reports, proctoring major examinations, assisting in laboratory preparation, and supplementing instruction. Duties also include aiding in understanding of course content, aiding in exam preparation and grading, grade entry, and leading small discussion groups. Priority review of applications will begin on March 14, 2025.
QualificationsEducation:
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Currently accepted into the Biology MS program
- GPA: 3.0 or higher (graduate level, if applicable)
- GPA: 2.7 or higher undergraduate level (if no graduate coursework)
GA Type: Teaching
GA Hour Expectations: 20 hours a week
Start Date: 08/10/2026
End Date: 12/11/2026
Total Stipend for Semester: $4,950
