Description
The Art Gallery Assistant position is a multi-faceted. You will assist the Gallery Director. The right person for this job is kind, courteous, welcoming and responsible. The candidate need not have art/gallery experience but it is a plus. Curiosity and openness to learn new skills is a must. Ability to work independently is a must.
Duties Include
- Welcoming visitors to the gallery.
- Communicating with visitors about upcoming events/exhibitions.
- Communicating questions from visitors and any problems that arise to the Gallery Director.
- Monitoring the gallery to ensure the safety of the artwork.
- Assisting with installation and deinstallation of exhibitions.
- Assisting with cleaning, spackling and painting walls after an exhibition.
- Opening/closing the gallery including operating a/v equipment.
- Sweeping the floor.
- Light dusting/cleaning.
- Taking out trash as needed.
- Cataloging/photographing artwork.
- Retrieving artwork from other offices on campus.
- Organizing tools/storage area
Education

- High School Diploma
Working Hours
- Hours will vary with your schedule.
