The Department of Human Services, Warren State Hospital is seeking reliable and caring Registered PRN Nurses to help care for individuals who have serious mental illness.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Pro Re Nata Registered Nurse, you will provide professional nursing care and treatment services, which includes assessing the patients' physical, psychosocial, and/or mental health status as well as utilizing nursing diagnosis and treatment in developing and implementing an individual treatment plan. You will perform as a charge nurse and direct and coordinate nursing care delivery on an assigned unit applying professional and psychiatric nursing concepts, techniques, and procedures in patient care.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
* Per diem employment.
* Temporary Part-Time (PRO RE NATA) on an as-needed basis.
* Work hours:
All shifts as needed
* May change based on operational needs.
* A PRN RN at WSH must work a minimum of 16 hours per calendar quarter, excluding CPR and MANDT training.
* A PRN RN at WSH has three months from the time of hire to complete all initial orientation and training.

Special Requirements :
* This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
* All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
* PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
* If you are within 60 days of graduating from a school of nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Registered Nurse license.
* You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
* A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and a drug screening test.
* This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
* Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
