Provide advanced nursing care in a dynamic stepdown telemetry unit focused primarily on cardiac patients. This role involves comprehensive assessment, patient-centered care planning, and critical interventions for individuals experiencing complex cardiac and multisystem conditions. The 17-bed unit provides care for adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, post-catheterization, and post-open-heart surgery, alongside respiratory, renal, and neurological cases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; analyze data to develop and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications safely and titrate cardiac drips such as heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, and insulin.
  • Interpret telemetry strips and utilize waveform monitors to manage cardiac rhythms accurately.
  • Provide care for patients with multi-system organ failure, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, coordinate patient education, and advocate for patient safety and quality care.
  • Manage devices including central lines, chest tubes, wound vacs, and advanced respiratory support like Airvo and BIPAP.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement and uphold professional nursing standards.
  • Lead and support nursing teams by orienting new staff and delegating tasks effectively.
Qualifications &

Experience:
  • Current RN license in the state of practice or compact nursing license.
  • Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide provided).
  • BLS and ACLS certification mandatory.
  • Minimum of 1 year RN experience required; acute care hospital experience preferred.
  • Critical care or progressive care certification preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to manage high-acuity patients.
