Position Overview

As a referral specialist you’ll play a crucial role in supporting our care delivery. You will ensure that patient referrals and all related paperwork, data and tracking are completed on a daily basis.

  • Functions as general office support in the clinical area and provides good customer service to all customers of ONE Health Systems, Inc.
  • Handles all phone calls appropriately in a timely manner.
  • Appropriately records phone messages and ensures that the messages are tasked to the correct Provider.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all relevant laboratory, testing results, office notes and patient correspondence are forwarded to Referral organization in a timely manner.
  • Assists with monitoring tracking systems to ensure that results are received. IE:
    Pap, lab and referral.
  • Assists front desk with missed appointments that need to be rescheduled and documents in the patients electronic health record.
  • Assists other departments such as front desk when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience
  • Computer skills required along with knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office.
  • Experience with multi‑line telephone system.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment, basic knowledge of medical terminology, release of information and medical record maintenance activities and billing activities is preferred.
  • Next Gen EHR experience.
  • Medical Assisting Certification preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform tasks requiring finger dexterity.
