Hourly Wage: $15.40/hr to start; $16.40/hr after 90 days.

As a Driver/PCA, you will support participants by providing transportation and assisting with activities as part of the interdisciplinary care team to proactively meet participant needs.
Duties/Responsibilities- Drive Participants to appointments and the Buckeye PACE Center
- Run errands for the facility (e.g., hardware store, grocery, pharmacy, banks)
- Communicate effectively with Participants, families, staff, and other agencies
- Operate wheelchair-accessible van with proper safety equipment; ensure timely deliveries to appointments
- Follow schedules and adjust as needed; determine safe and efficient routes
- Assist passengers on/off the van; manage emergencies and use of medical equipment
- Provide in-home or in-center Personal Care Aide support (showering, bathing, toileting, etc.) as needed
- Inspect and maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety; report maintenance needs
- Attend meetings and trainings; communicate changes in Participant condition to the team
- Complete required documentation; participate in quality initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
- Valid State driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to make independent decisions when appropriate
- Ability to work well in a team and operate handicap-accessible vehicles
- Ability to interact tactfully and patiently with various individuals
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance policies and procedures
- Ability to minimize waste and misuse of supplies and equipment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through on tasks
- Cognitive ability to process tasks for Participant safety
- Excellent verbal communication; ability to follow written and/or oral directions
- High School Diploma or GED plus one year of experience with frail/elderly population
- Q-Straint Academy Certification (Training Provided)
- One year of experience with frail/elderly population or willingness to complete company-paid training
- CPR and First Aid Certification (Training Provided)
- Valid State driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Successful completion of background check, physical, drug screening, TB screening
- Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Capability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move; may lift/push up to 25 pounds with equipment
- Constant awareness for Participant safety
