Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience working in a school, school district or educational program.
  • Computer literate with ability to successfully work with all applications of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel and the ability to operate the functions within each.
  • Working knowledge of posting job openings on multiple external media platforms.
  • Familiarity with job boards, social media platforms and applicant tracking systems.
  • Experience maintaining an annual budget, creating requisitions and balancing for needed expenses.
  • Ability to communicate in a positive manner and be an effective member of a team.
  • Ability to perform duties requiring the strictest confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree, bachelor's degree, or higher.
  • Leadership experience gained in a Human Resources/Personnel Department, other central office department or school office.
Duties
  • Personnel Record
    • Attend training for Staff EMIS and maintain EMIS records for classified staff throughout the year.
    • Determine Reappointments/Salaries for Treasurer's Office and record in classified personnel files.
    • Assist in preparing correspondences and necessary forms at the request of immediate supervisor.
    • Schedule meetings as required.
  • Salary Table/Salary Movement
    • Maintain updated salary tables assigning salary to all newly employed and transferred classified staff providing proper forms to the Office of the Treasurer.
    • Verify and evaluate education before determining salary placement for classified staff member.
  • Staffing
    • Coordinate all pre-employment process requirements with new employees and/or related departments, updating as appropriate.
    • Prepare potential classified staff assignments for all departments.
  • Job Postings
    • Coordinate Job Openings/Postings and be responsible for accurate new hire paperwork.
    • Gather Job Posting applications, organize and create spreadsheets of candidates, and coordinate interviews with appropriate personnel as directed.
  • Substitutes
    • Receive requests from PK-8 Buildings, High School and other departments for classified employee substitute help as needed; schedule substitutes as appropriate.
    • Responsible for advertisement, applications, interview process, new hire paperwork, and maintenance of records/personnel files for non-teaching substitutes.
    • Annually prepare and distribute the District's letter of reasonable assurance to non-teaching substitutes.
    • Enter new employee information into employee maintenance system and provide a welcome letter to new hires.
  • Payroll
    • Prepare payroll for Office of Human Resources and clerical substitutes working in the administration building.
    • Prepare annual longevity computations for all eligible employees as is contractually required. Submit to the Office of the Treasurer timely, for payment in November of each year.
  • Seniority
    • Maintain current seniority listings for all classified unions;
      Food Service, Educational Assistants, Maintenance/Transportation, Carpenters and Clerical, and provide updated copies to the various unions as mandated in the Union Agreements.
  • Other Duties
    • Assist the Office of Human Resources with staffing as needed.
    • Generate Classified Board Agenda items for all Board meetings, providing exhibits as needed.
    • Work with other Human Resources staff to process paperwork for Family Medical Leave for classified personnel and follow-up to make sure extended leaves and return to work paperwork is properly completed.
    • Create and maintain evaluation list for department/building administrators; record and file classified evaluations upon receipt in the Office of Human Resources.
    • Assist the Office of Human Resources during contract negotiations as needed.
    • Process telephone calls, correspondence, verifications, inquiries relative to classified employees that may include present, resigned, retired of former employees.
    • Maintain annual budget for the Office of Human Resources.
    • Type and process purchase orders; follow budget and transfer funds as needed.
