Cost Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Warren, Ohio. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in cost accounting and exceptional organizational abilities. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate project billings and maintaining clear communication with internal teams and external clients.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of weekly and monthly project billings.

- Collaborate with various internal teams to identify and account for all project costs.

- Communicate with clients to justify and explain project-related expenses.

- Maintain detailed and well-organized records for all billing and cost-related activities.

- Analyze financial data to ensure compliance with project budgets and cost standards.

- Monitor and evaluate costs associated with ongoing projects to maximize revenue opportunities.

- Provide detailed cost analysis and reporting to support decision-making.

- Utilize expertise in cost accounting principles to enhance billing accuracy and efficiency.

- Address discrepancies or issues in billing and propose solutions to resolve them.

- Ensure adherence to industry standards and company policies in all cost accounting activities. Requirements

- Proven experience in cost accounting, preferably in construction or manufacturing industries.

- Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting principles and practices.

- Proficiency in cost analysis and financial reporting.

- Exceptional organizational and detail-oriented skills.

- Ability to effectively communicate with internal teams and external clients.

- Familiarity with project-based billing processes, AIA Billing is a must

- Advanced proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
