Position: Supervisory Security Guard with Security Clearance
Duties
* Using subordinate supervisors and work leaders, oversees and directs the work of the Branch.
* Assure that subordinate supervisors actively support the provisions and goals of various personnel and employee relations programs, such as equal opportunity, merit promotion plans, counseling services, performance appraisals, sick leave plan, etc.
* Assisting in the interpretation and implementation of directives from higher authorities.
* Oversee development/implementation of training plans/special training necessitated by fielding new technology/devices used to scan identification/documents, detect explosives and other hazardous chemicals and identify the contents/cargo of vehicles.
* Initiate security and operational memoranda for compliance of rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.
* Inform the Chief of the Protection Division or Director of Operations of any incidents at access control points or actions by guard force personnel which would result in public interest. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
* This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
* This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
* This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
* The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. Loss of license may result in removal from the position.
* This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
* This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
* Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
* This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
* This position requires the employee to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton.
* Incumbent must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the NCIC terminals.
* Employee will be assessed under the Individual Reliability Program.
* Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
* A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
* Must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
* Employee must be able to perform as a member of the installation's overall security response capability.
* Must wear the Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) uniform IAW AR 190-56, maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene.
