Kitchen Team Member

Overview

This kitchen porter position is available at entry-level, no experience necessary. Must have a willingness to work hard and to learn as you go. This position is located in a local commissary where we bulk prepare school meals, and drivers ship out ready-to-serve lunches. We have a kitchen and a warehouse with both cold and dry shelf storage.

• Valid Driver's License.
• Pass Background Check with Clean Driving Record.
• Pass Drug Test.

• Cleaning
  :
  Cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the kitchen, including floors, walls, work surfaces, ovens, grills, sinks, and stoves. Clean bathrooms and floors throughout.
• Food preparation
  :
  Helping the chef with basic food preparation, such as peeling, washing, and cutting ingredients.
• Storage
  :
  Unloading and storing food and equipment deliveries, and keeping freezers, fridges, and storage areas clean and organized.
• Dishes
  :
  Washing, drying, and loading dishes into the dishwasher.
• Waste
  :
  Taking out the garbage and disposing of kitchen waste properly.
• Health and safety
  :
  Ensuring food hygiene regulations are adhered to, and following any applicable health and service standards.
• Flexibility
  :
  Being adaptable and able to take a flexible approach to your work, as working hours and shifts can vary.

Be prepared to work in a kitchen environment that involves prolonged standing, working in high and low temperatures, and physical labor.

Hours:

5:30 AM to 10:30 AM. There is some flexibility here, but this position would need to start by 6 AM.
