Job DescriptionThe Quality Supervisor is an integral part of a company whose focus is to change the automotive landscape. The Supervisor will supervise a group of UAW represented employees, ensuring that process controls are in place to meet all corporate standards and preventing the outflow of defects from the process. The role involves creating, implementing, and sustaining vehicle control plans to prevent outflow of defects to the customer.
The Supervisor must be a creative problem‑solver, proactive, and steadfast in identifying and resolving vehicle quality issues. The successful candidate must possess outstanding teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills, unquestioned integrity, and a proven track record for developing and executing standardization. Experience in both supplier and quality areas, as well as broad knowledge of automotive engineering, manufacturing, testing and quality, is required.
- Manage day‑to‑day quality control and inspection activities.
- Directly supervise hourly and/or SBU employees.
- Audit across all shifts to hold team members and leaders accountable, issuing discipline as required.
- Cover other salary functions during vacations, absences and other business needs.
- Use independent judgment to commence or cease production operations based on quality, safety and/or regulatory requirements.
- Direct the workforce to follow government regulations and all applicable MQGR and Level 1 standards.
- Identify needs for process improvements and procedures.
- Document conditions found and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Communicate results to quality and plant management.
- Plan, prioritize, set goals and manage multiple projects in a technical and business environment.
- Lead and support meetings at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Establish partnerships internally and externally, influencing without direct authority.
- Provide expert technical leadership and direct cross‑functional teams in quality initiatives.

- Perform process audits based on internal and external quality indicators.
- Train and coach on specific sections of checklists, expanded to UL and TL.
- Review critical processes and stations daily.
- Report monthly process conformity scorecard for the plant.
- Review and decide on process deviations related to MQGR/standards.
- Monitor new or enhanced regulatory and corporate requirements, update checklists and lead implementation.
- Assist in root cause, containment and corrective actions for all quality‑related issues.
- Collaborate with subject‑matter experts and use problem‑solving tools for issue resolution.
- Serve as a technical liaison between engineering, quality, production and product design departments.
- Document non‑conformance conditions and opportunities for process improvement.
- Maintain acceptable quality standards and clean points.
- Supervise vehicle inspection and analyze data against daily audits.
- Supervise new production vehicles to validate quality or identify concerns.
- Effectively supervise all employees assigned.
- Train and coach salary and bargaining unit employees.
- Recommend and implement error/mistake‑proofing strategies.
- Work with engineering and suppliers to resolve non‑plant controllable issues.
- Support mapping launch readiness to compliance requirements.
- Lead training on quality requirements for plant personnel.
- Recommend and implement initiatives to improve plant processes.
- Analyze quality data to ensure calibration.
- Develop inspection standards and best methods.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills to work in a team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3+ years of related experience.
- Demonstrated planning/problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work a flexible shift schedule.
- Experience with computer systems and software, strong knowledge of MS Office or Google Office.
