We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Manual Machinist to join a leading Company located in the Warren, MI surrounding area.
The Manual Machinist will perform complex setups, edits, and machining operations with minimal supervision to ensure aerospace components meet exact specifications and quality standards. This position supports both established production and new product introduction (NPI) jobs.
Responsibilities- Perform complex setups and operate Manual VTLs and manual lathes
- Make modifications and adjustments to ensure conformance to specifications
- Verify dimensions using precision measuring tools (micrometers, depth gauges, height gauges, verniers)
- Read and interpret blueprints and operation sheets
- Apply GD&T knowledge in daily machining operations
- Work with engineering regarding material conditions, tooling pressure, and positioning
- Detect and report faulty operations or materials
Maintain clean and organized work areas (6S / Lean practices) - Follow all machine safety and guarding requirements
- Meet production schedules and customer deadlines
- Provide training to others as needed
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3–5 years of aerospace machining experience required
- Minimum 3 years setting up and operating Manual VTLs and manual lathes
- Experience with machines such as Mazak, Mori-Seiki, and Leblond
- Experience in machining plasma coatings and K/E seals on rotating aircraft parts
- Strong mathematical aptitude
- Strong knowledge of GD&T
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Willingness to learn basic CNC programming
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
