PCSI is seeking a Building Inspector for its Detroit Arsenal Site.
We seek a motivated, friendly team member to inspect and assess real property at Detroit Arsenal. The right person will be proactive and take pride in their accomplishments. This position reports to the Resource Manager at Detroit Arsenal in Warren, MI.
Shift: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday. This union position has a range starting at $32.00 – $34.00, depending on experience, with annual increases, plus $5.95 for health and welfare.

Primary Job Functions- Coordinate inspections of real property to assess and update condition levels within the Army BUILDER system, ensuring accurate data entry and maintenance of facility records.
- Track and document completed unscheduled repairs and project‑related property changes, ensuring accurate updates are entered into the BUILDER system.
- Provide support for the Detroit Arsenal Material Warranty Program, ensuring compliance with warranty processes and facilitating the timely resolution of material‑related issues.
- May compile operational status reports for real property buildings and assist in the preparation of DA Form 1354 documentation.
- Responsible for secondary duties in supply chain functions, including end‑to‑end material procurement, vendor collaboration for quotes, and ensuring timely acquisition of resources to meet production schedules.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Over two years of hands‑on experience with facility equipment, components, and materials.
- Experience in a maintenance environment is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in computer navigation with efficient operation of various software applications and digital platforms.
- Successfully pass pre‑employment drug/alcohol screen, background check, and motor vehicle report.
- Must have a valid Michigan state Driver’s License and be an insurable driver by the company.
- Able to effectively speak, read, and write the English language.
- Requires ability to work outside and regularly climb ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move, and carry office materials and supplies weighing 20 pounds or less.
- Self‑starter capable of working independently for the majority of the work week.
- Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard.
- Must have good hand/eye coordination.
- Hearing and speech sufficient to verbally communicate in person and on the telephone.
- Mobility to frequently alternate between sitting, standing, and moving about the facilities.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Self‑starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather, as needed, and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
- Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
