Join a premier defense engineering team onsite in Warren, MI as a Defense Test Engineer focused on embedded software for military ground vehicles. This is a contract opportunity (6+ months) with a Fortune 500 defense contractor, offering the chance to work on next-generation vehicle systems featuring advanced embedded and real‑time technologies. We’re looking for a passionate engineer with hands‑on military, prototyping, or embedded software experience who’s eager to make an impact. 6+ Months (with high likelihood of extension)

• 6+ years software testing experience (or 3+ years direct military/embedded domain)
• Strong expertise in embedded systems & hardware/software integration
• Requirements management (DOORS, Jama, or similar)
• Debugging, defect documentation, and root cause analysis
• Knowledge of military, automotive, or aerospace standards (MIL-STD, DO-178C, ISO 26262)
• Test automation experience (Python, C/C++ preferred)

• DoD/military vehicle program experience
• Rapid prototyping or field integration exposure
• Familiarity with RTOS and safety‑critical software testing
• Active security clearance or eligibility
• Experience with secure software development/testing

• 70% Embedded Software (C/C++, Python, hardware‑in‑the‑loop environments)
• 20% Requirements Management Tools (e.g., DOORS)
• 10% Vehicle Platform Testing/Simulation

• 80% Hands On Testing (develop, execute, and report on test cases for embedded systems)
• 10% Test Planning/Management Duties (test strategy, process improvement)
• 10% Team Collaboration (cross‑functional troubleshooting, stakeholder interaction)
