Future Educators Club Sponsor (grant funded position)

Fitzgerald High School

• Prior experience in facilitating student clubs, activities, or organizations preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work with students, parents, staff, district employees, and external agencies.
• Valid Michigan teaching certification.

• Collaborate with building administration to set Future Educators Club meeting dates and times, club activities, and field trips.
• Advertise new Future Educators Club purpose to Fitzgerald High School students to identify club participants.
• Maintain club participant list and attendance records for all club meetings and activities.
• Supervise students during all before/after school and/or summer Future Educators Club meetings, activities, and field trips.
• Plan Future Educator Club curriculum to be used at all club meetings using the Michigan EXPLORE curriculum resources and materials.
• Complete EXPLORE curriculum training.
• Order supplies and materials needed to complete club activities within the identified grant budget.
• Coordinate offsite field trips, including transportation, to conferences, college visits, and elementary schools.
• Coordinate club activities with district elementary school principals and teachers.
• Coordinate guest speakers, including stipend payment, at club meetings to support students in exploring various careers within the field of education.
• Create and maintain an inventory log of program supplies and materials.
• Submit program report of activities completed, student perception data, attendance records, and program impact as required by the 2026 Future Proud Michigan Educator Explore grant.
• All other duties as assigned or needed.

Club meetings to occur 1-2 times per month for up to 1 hour outside of school hours from March-August, 2026, not to exceed 12 paid hours, as agreed upon by building administration.

Up to 10 additional hours of paid time will be provided to the club sponsor to create the club program design, complete instructor training for EXPLORE curriculum, develop club curriculum using EXPLORE materials, attend implementation meetings, and prepare for club meeting activities and events.

$40.00/hour as outlined in 2026 Future Proud Michigan Educator Explore Grant
