POSITION:Summer School High School Credit Recovery Lead Teacher (Grades 9-12)
LOCATION:Fitzgerald High School
QUALIFICATIONS:- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate required
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in school administration including previous summer school director experience.
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
- Ability to use good judgment in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using general technology equipment.
- All other duties as assigned or needed.
- Facilitating student use of the Imagine Learning program and providing technical assistance in coordination with the Imagine Learning program.
- Facilitation of the summer school educational program includes data collection and reporting out to administration/Board of Education, adding students to the program, aligning course work, assigning courses, monitoring student progress, submission of grades, and collection of daily attendance.
- Ensure that all Summer School Credit Recovery teachers are monitoring student progress, classroom management, submission of grades and collection of daily attendance.
- Work with building principals and secretaries to send registration packets to parents of identified students.
- Collect registration forms - check to be sure all forms are complete, legible, and accurate.
- Maintain a communication log detailing all home-school communication, if necessary.
- Monitor student arrival, breakfast, lunch, and dismissal to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment.
- Create class, lunch, and support schedules in collaboration with the food service department, transportation, and administration to facilitate program goals.
- Coordination with the Summer School Teacher(s). Students exiting grades 9-12 will be completing a credit recovery program during a 2-week session. An Imagine Learning training session will be required prior to the start of summer school during the week of July 1st - July 3rd.

June 22-26 (Date/Times TBD)
Session A:July 6 - July 16, Monday - Thursday
Session B:July 20
- July 30, Monday - Thursday
Monday-Thursday 8:00am-3:30pm inclusive of prep time (60 min/day) and duty free lunch (30 min/day)
Student HoursMorning Session: 8:30am-11:30am Monday-Thursday (3 hours)
Afternoon Session: 12:00-3:00pm Monday-Thursday (3 hours)
SALARY:$40/hour
Additional Info:The Summer School Lead Teacher will have an additional 6 hours for program completion time required per session - 12 hours total.
Session A Program Completion Time:July 6 - July 19 (6 hours total) to monitor summer school student course completion via home internet.
Session B Program Completion Time:July 20
- August 2 (6 hours total) to monitor summer school student course completion via home internet.
Director of Academic Services or Designee
Positions will be filled based upon student enrollment, teacher certification and program leadership and related experience. Preference will be given to those who can work both sessions.
