Special Education Teacher in Warren, MI

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available to support K2 students with cognitive impairments in a K-12 school setting in Warren, MI. This contract role runs from ASAP through June 11, 2026, and requires onsite presence at an elementary school.

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with cognitive impairments (CI) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with students' needs and goals
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, and support staff to enhance educational outcomes
• Maintain classroom management and a safe learning environment, utilizing CPI techniques as necessary

• Valid Special Education License with CI or ASD endorsement is required
• Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), or willingness to obtain and renew certification annually
• Experience working with students in grades K2 with cognitive impairments preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to support collaboration with staff and families
