Special Education Teacher - Warren, MI

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher position is available to support K-12 students with mild to moderate special needs. The role requires creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students unique learning requirements. This full-time contract opportunity spans from ASAP through June 12, 2026, and requires in-person work at a middle and high school campus in Detroit, MI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with students, families, and staff to develop, monitor, and update IEPs
• Deliver specialized instruction that addresses individual learning goals
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs
• Monitor student progress and communicate outcomes to relevant stakeholders
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations

Qualifications and Desired

Experience:

• Michigan Special Education Certification with a valid SPED endorsement
• Experience working with students with mild to moderate special education needs preferred
• Strong understanding of special education laws and best practices
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
• Effective communication and organizational skills
