Locum Jobs Online is working with Lancesoft Inc to find a qualified Rheumatology MD in Michigan!
Job Description
We are seeking a Board-Certified, Fellowship-Trained Rheumatologist to provide locum tenens coverage for an established rheumatology practice serving adult and geriatric patients. This role includes outpatient clinic coverage combined with minimal inpatient consults and hospital call responsibilities .
Position Highlights
Locum tenens opportunity due to a current vacancy
Outpatient-focused rheumatology practice with limited inpatient consults
Supportive clinical environment with MA, RN, and front-desk staff
Minimal hospital call volume (typically a few calls per week)
Hospital located approximately 10 minutes from the clinic
Schedule
Clinic coverage: 4×10-hour shifts or 5×8-hour shifts
Call coverage: 24-hour hospital call , two weeks per month (1:2 call rotation)
Weekend coverage required as part of call rotation
Start date:
As soon as credentialed
Coverage duration: Ongoing
Patient Volume
Clinic: 16–18 patients per day
Hospital:
Approximately 1 inpatient consult per day
Scope of Practice
Adult and geriatric rheumatology care
Outpatient clinic visits
Hospital-based consults
Joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections
Technology
EMR system: Epic
Credentialing
Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90–120 days

Requirements
Board Certified in Rheumatology
Fellowship-trained in Rheumatology
Active Michigan medical license
BLS certification
Ability to perform joint aspirations and injections
Experience with Epic EMR preferred
Self-query NPDB within the past 30 days
