Position Title: E-Learning Technical / Manufacturing Instructional Systems Designer
For remote - Client will reimburse travel and lodging expenses, provided the stay is in Warren and limited to 2- or 3-star hotels only.Duration: 12 Months (Potential for Direct Hire)
Travel: Occasional travel to Michigan assembly plants
Work Hours: 1st Shift (7 AM – 5 PM EST preferred)
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) with strong technical manufacturing experience to support training development initiatives for our Manufacturing Client.
This role focuses on designing and delivering training for automotive and manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate has experience developing technical training for plant-floor, engineering, quality, or operations teams.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure within GM, with potential for long-term conversion based on performance.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop training using ADDIE and SAM methodologies
- Instructor-Led Training (ILT)
- Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT)
- Web-Based Training (WBT)
- Blended learning solutions
- Job aids, technical manuals, videos
- Collaborate with program managers and technical SMEs
- Translate complex manufacturing systems and processes into clear learning materials
- Develop assessments and evaluate training effectiveness
- Continuously improve courseware based on performance feedback
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or related field
- Strong experience designing training for manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or technical operations
- Proven experience working with cross-functional technical teams (manufacturing engineering, quality, maintenance, IT, operations)
- Advanced proficiency in:
Articulate, Captivate, Microsoft Office - Ability to quickly learn technical systems and represent them accurately in training
- Strong communication skills across global teams
- Exposure to automotive manufacturing operations
- High-visibility role
