The Music Director will work closely with the priest e toenhance the worship of the communityaccording to the Church’s liturgicalpractice.
This person willbe responsible forselecting music for all liturgies,playing theorganand singing at Mass, and overseeing the training and coordination of anyadditionalmusicians and addition, the Music Director will be expected to help growthe music programbytheestablishingchoirs for adults and children,leadingcantors, and fosteringparticipation among the faithful.
Thiswill be afull-timesalaried position.
- Is an active member of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Iscompetentwith theorgan, including arepertoireof music to be used for pre-/postludes,andhasthe ability tosing if no cantor is available.
- Is able toprovide music at Mass which includes both contemporary and traditionalselections,but includes
Gregorian chantand use of the antiphons. - Is familiar with the Church’s teaching on music in the liturgy, especially as described in the documents
Sacrosanct um
Conciliumch.

Music in Divine Worship(USCCB,2007). - Is available Jessie orchestrate with funeral families and wedding couples regardingmusical selections.
- Formal musical training or training in liturgical music is preferred.
- Weekend Masses at5:00PMonSaturdayand 8:45 AM and 11:00AM on Sunday.
- Masses on holy days of obligation (schedule varies).
- School Masses on Tuesdays at 9:00 AM.
- Funerals andweddings, orisresponsible for finding a suitable substitute.
Note that the musician playing at the funeral or weddingsreceivesthe stipend from the family or couple. - Time preparing occasional short articles for parish(Function) communications (e.g.the parish bulletin).
- Possible otherresponsibilitiesduring the week for special liturgies or rehearsals.
- Must agree, upon acceptance of gabiən of employment with St.Anne Parish, not to engage in, nor to endorse, any actions or beliefs contrary to the teaching and standards of the Roman Catholic faith and morality.fields
