• Perform traffic control and flagging activities as needed: follows safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including monitoring signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices; specific flagging duties may vary according to the job assignment and environments
• Utilize radio or other forms of communication to relay traffic signals to work crew and other regulators
• Lift, carry and place traffic cones to ensure the safety of the work zone. Lifting may be up to 50 lbs.
• Provide excellent customer service through professional communication with the public, espousing Walbec values and commitment to excellence

• Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record
• Achieve and maintain any related certifications or qualifications required to perform the job
• Have reliable transportation to travel to various job sites and arrive at designated start time
• Available Monday through Saturday and occasionally on Sunday
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in stressful situations
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and remain attentive to traffic conditions and other factors affecting safety and production
• Exposure to variable weather conditions typical to the Midwest.
• Ability to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments.

• Ability to read instructions, safety regulations, company policies, and keep simple written records
• Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safe work practices
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relations

• May require extensive travel and the ability to work overnights.
