Job DescriptionWith safety and ethics at the core of everything we do, our experienced professionals are hard at work on commercial and industrial sites throughout the Midwest.
Responsibilities- Perform traffic control and flagging activities as needed: follows safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including monitoring signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices; specific flagging duties may vary according to the job assignment and environments
- Utilize radio or other forms of communication to relay traffic signals to work crew and other regulators
- Lift, carry and place traffic cones to ensure the safety of the work zone. Lifting may be up to 50 lbs.
- Provide excellent customer service through professional communication with the public, espousing Walbec values and commitment to excellence
- Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record
- Achieve and maintain any related certifications or qualifications required to perform the job
- Have reliable transportation to travel to various job sites and arrive at designated start time
- Available Monday through Saturday and occasionally on Sunday
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in stressful situations
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and remain attentive to traffic conditions and other factors affecting safety and production
- Exposure to variable weather conditions typical to the Midwest.
- Ability to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments.
- Ability to read instructions, safety regulations, company policies, and keep simple written records
- Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safe work practices
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relations
- May require extensive travel and the ability to work overnights.
