Brunson Elementary School is seeking a skilled and passionate Math-Focused Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in both inclusion and pull‑out resource settings. The ideal candidate will collaborate with general education math teachers to provide specialized instruction, implement interventions, and ensure meaningful access to grade‑level math curriculum aligned with each student’s IEP.
ResponsibilitiesProvide targeted math intervention and skill-building in pull‑out resource classes, with a focus on foundational numeracy, problem‑solving, and grade‑level readiness.
Deliver inclusion math support through co‑teaching, modeling, scaffolding, and differentiated instruction within general education math classrooms.
Use data‑driven instructional strategies, manipulatives, and evidence‑based math practices to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
Support students in developing math fluency, reasoning, and confidence in math problem‑solving tasks.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with math‑specific goals and accommodations.
Monitor student progress using math assessments, progress‑monitoring tools, and classroom data.
Adjust instruction and services based on ongoing analysis of academic performance.
Collaborate with families, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure understanding of student math needs and progress.
Work closely with general education math teachers to modify assignments, assessments, and pacing guides.
Co‑plan math lessons, accommodations, and interventions with the math team.
Communicate regularly with staff and families regarding student achievements and needed supports.
Participate in professional development related to special education, math instruction, and inclusive practices.
Maintain accurate documentation, uphold confidentiality, and follow district policies.
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
Valid Arkansas Special Education teaching license (or eligibility for licensure).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
