Position OverviewFull‑Time WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR (WG‑5409‑09) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the 78 ABW/78 CEG at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, Georgia. 2026 Salary Range: $28.39–$33.10/Hour (includes locality). Posting Open: 2/23/2026 ;

The primary purpose of this position is to perform as a State of Georgia certified Water Plant Operator and exercise shift responsibility over subordinate employees in accomplishing the operation, overhaul, and maintenance of the Water Treatment Facility and Swimming Pools and all equipment used in conjunction with the Water Treatment operation.

Skills and Abilities
(KSAs):
- Knowledge of wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of water and swimming pool treatment.
- Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and/or test equipment common to the trade.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and technical specifications.
- The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- A valid state driver’s license is required.
- As required, may train and/or guide personnel in performance of duties.
- Required to obtain job‑related certifications.
- Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Determination: the position has been designated as nonexempt.
- AF2539‑Bargaining Unit Status does not meet 7112(a) of the Federal Service Labor Management Relations Statute.
- Must have current State of Georgia Certificate for water treatment (at least Class III).
