Inframark is hiring a Gas Technician in Training to join our responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipal natural gas system. You would be responsible for locating and painting meters; basic leak investigation; maintenance tasks; and general labor. We are seeking customer service-oriented candidates with experience working with mechanical and electrical systems. Utility locator experience is a plus!

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs for natural gas services
• Work outside in all weather, both above‑ground and below‑ground
• Perform simple sniff tests to determine leaks
• Maintain records associated with service and repair functions
• Read and interpret meters and gauges to ensure proper function; repair or replace as needed; assist in turning gas service on and off
• Carry out landscape maintenance and traffic control tasks
• Attend safety classes, reinforce and comply with company safety policies
• Other duties as assigned

Requires high school diploma, GED and training equivalent to the satisfactory completion of specialized training or relevant experience. Must have a valid state driver’s license and meet minimum driving standards.

• Working knowledge of HVAC and plumbing codes, as applied to service and installation of appliances.
• Working knowledge of electronics and its application to control circuits and systems.
• Working knowledge of HVAC equipment, the installation and service of appliances, venting systems, gas burning equipment and metering and regulating systems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, bright and/or dim light, dust or pollen, intense noise levels, vibration, fumes or noxious odors.
