Position: Guest Services Associate / Night Audit

Job Summary

As a Night Auditor, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial accuracy and integrity of hotel operations. You will be responsible for auditing, balancing, and reporting on various hotel departments such as food & beverage outlets, rooms/front desk, gift shop, and more. Your work will ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, adherence to company policies and procedures, and help prevent fraud.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audit, balance, and report on cash and credit transactions in food & beverage outlets (e.g., restaurants, lounges, banquets). This includes reviewing checks, over/short figures, deposits, tally sheets, house charges, promotional materials, postings, etc., and resetting registers for accurate information.
  • Audit, balance, post, and report on front desk operations, including room charges, phone calls, deposits, taxes, disputed charges, adjustments, corrections, over/short figures, and zero balance folios. Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Audit and prepare room information reports to provide rooms management with key performance insights.
  • Prepare and enter statistics and income journal sheets to assist with the creation of daily reports.
  • Balance and close all bank ticket codes on a daily basis.
  • Run the night audit finalization process to ensure all revenues are in balance.
  • Perform Front Desk Clerk duties, including express checkouts, as needed.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Accounting background is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to operate a Personal Computer, Cash Register, and Calculator.
  • Strong ability to compile and analyze facts and figures.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and guest relations skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift files and papers up to 5 lbs. 50% of the time. May lift luggage up to 50 lbs.
  • Mobility:
    Ability to move between front desk, PBX, accounting, and other hotel areas 15-20% of the time.
  • Ability to bend, lift, and remain standing or walking for the duration of the shift.
